Welcome and we hope the information about the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) will help you to know who we are and what we do.

Who are we:

A voluntary group comprising 9 parishioners and 2 priests from within the Parish.

People are invited to join the Pastoral Council because of their commitment and experience gained by serving on some of the other groups within the parish, such as the Liturgy and Communion groups. Others are invited to join because of their knowledge and willingness to help achieve goals within the community. Every year 3 people are invited to join, with each person serving only 3 years on the Council. If you have an interest in receiving an invitation to join the Parish Pastoral Council please email the parish office.

Our Mission Statement:

Through our Baptism we are called to be the presence of Jesus Christ in the world today. We therefore seek to build a community of people aspiring to a way of life based on the Gospel and celebrated through Liturgy and the Sacraments.
By living this way of life the uniqueness of each individual is treasured.
Their gifts and talents are called forth for the service of all people in this place and beyond in a loving, caring and generous way.

How Do We Operate and What Do We Do:

Guided by the Parish Mission Statement, we facilitate the implementation of the Christian vision and values through leadership and strategic direction, where appropriate.

The Parish Pastoral Council meets 20 times a year (averaging twice a month, excluding July & August). During meetings we review the ongoing needs of the parish and plan for future demands. We communicate within the parish, by means of the newsletter, website or at mass and also with other parishes and our diocese. We liaise with other groups within the parish Cluster and provide encouragement and support as required.

Some of the initiatives the PPC have been involved with in the last 12 months:

  • Eucharistic Congress
  • Sounding board for some existing groups within the parish
  • Child Protection
  • Integration and meeting with other parishes in the locality
  • Alpha Group Facilitation
